    AREA PROJECTS

OPENED: Walmart Supercenter

The Walmart Supercenter in Horizon City opened on October 16, 2013. The store, at about 186,000 square feet, is the largest Walmart in El Paso County. It is open around the clock everyday and has all the amenities people expect at the supercenters. It is located on the southwest corner of the intersection of Horizon Blvd. and Darrington Rd. The store employs around 300 full- and part-time people with a reported average pay of $12 per hour.

  RENOVATED: Golf Clubhouse

The long wait for Horizon golfers, diners and property owners is over. The completely renovated clubhouse at the renamed Horizon Golf and Conference Center is set to open November, 2013. The renewed clubhouse includes a full service restaurant with banquet, dance and conference facilities. The restaurant will be called the Moonlight Bar & Grill.

  PURCHASED: Golf Course

On March 6, 2013 the Horizon Regional Municipal Utility District (HRMUD) signed the papers to gain ownership of the Emerald Springs Golf Course. The HRMUD Board of Directors approved the purchase of the golf course to avoid a costly investment in developing a new location to divert treated waste water.
